About GiftBoxd

How It Started

GiftBoxd wasn't planned. It began with me, a dad in Cornwall, trying to keep track of presents for my two boys, Zac and Noah. Their birthdays collide with Christmas, which meant I was drowning in “who's got what” lists and broken spreadsheets.

I'm not a spreadsheet guy. I am, however, an app developer with 20+ years' experience. So naturally, I thought: I'll just build something.

But here's the thing: I didn't have time. Between a full-time job as a Software Architect and two young kids, side projects don't usually make it off the ground. The difference now? We're in the age of AI.

With AI tools for design, development, and project management, I could experiment, move faster, and actually finish something. GiftBoxd is the result — part personal experiment, part survival tool for the chaos of family life.

It's not backed by a company or a team. It's just me, working from home in Cornwall, seeing what's possible when creativity and AI meet. And if it makes your gift-giving a little easier too, then all the better.

What's the Catch?

There isn't one.

I'm just a guy with an idea. I don't care about your data, I'm not interested in tracking what you do, and honestly — it's not worth it. Everything you put in GiftBoxd stays on your device.

The only things I see are:

  • Installation numbers (so I know if anyone's actually using this)
  • Crash reports (so I can fix bugs when they happen)

GiftBoxd. No ads. No data grabs. No nonsense. Ever.

How Pricing Works

I don't like subscriptions, and I don't think this kind of app should chip away at you with hidden costs. GiftBoxd is a one-off payment: cheap, simple, and yours forever.

There's a free version with limited use so you can see if it's useful. If it helps, and you want more, you can unlock the full app with a single payment. That's it — no recurring fees, no tricks, no “premium tiers.”

Think of it less like buying software and more like supporting a dad who built something useful in his spare time.
